Ed began his career as a graduate trainee at HSBC James Capel in 1998 gathering expertise at top global investment banks (Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse & JPMorgan) - becoming a recognized thought leader in the European banking space.
Founder mentality
In 2009, Ed co-founded Autonomous Research, a world-class equity and credit research platform. Under his commercial leadership, the firm became a benchmark for excellence, establishing a dominant brand and industry position with a reputation for delivering for its clients the highest quality service. The business was acquired by Alliance Bernstein in 2019.
Following a change of control to Autonomous in 2024, Ed launched Fintrinsic to provide independent consulting and advisory services to financial services firms, asset managers and fintech companies. This platform offers access to Ed's expertise and rich network of contacts across the industry.
